I'm dying in anticipation.

Okay, so this isn't really a post about my school experience.  Cause, I still don't have any.  However, this is a post about what I can't wait for in my school experience.  I am so excited to find out which Shakespeare production we will be working on primarily.  As I understand it, we will be working on different scenes and monologues throughout the school year, but we will be doing a production of sorts with one of the plays.

That is one of my most anticipated moments.  Find out the show and casting.  I believe that they said there isn't an audition process, and that we'll just be placed into parts.  So, for funsies, I thought I would talk about some of the shows I would love to do most, and the parts in it.

A Midsummer Night's Dream - So, this is like at the top of my list.  I would love to do a Shakespearean comedy.  Also, one of the parts I would do just about anything for is in it.  Bottom.  I love that part, and I love this play.  So wonderful and magical to me.

Othello - I would love to play Iago.  That would be so amazingly awesome.  The end.

Richard III - I would love to play Richard.  That would be so amazingly awesome. The end.

Much Ado About Nothing - Really, I love this play and being in it would be a blast.  With the right casting, I could maybe even kinda sorta be Benedick.  Same kinda thing for Taming of the Shrew.

As a kind of final note, I would love to play Falstaff in any of his plays.  Henry IV or Merry Wives.

Getting Started

So, lately I have had a bunch of my friends ask about what I am expecting from grad school, and what I'll be doing.  People asked that I keep them updated with what I would be doing while there, what parts I was playing and so on.  I decided that a blog might be a good idea to talk about the things I will be going through while over there. This is going to be focused on the classes and acting.  Kammie's blog will talk more about living in Scotland and all that kind of stuff.  So there are two different blogs, for two different purposes.

Anyway, for those of you who don't know, I will be attending the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (soon to be the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland) starting September 20th.  I will be working towards achieving my MA in Classic and Contemporary texts (Acting Emphasis).  This school has been my dream school for about 3 years.  I am shocked and amazed at my good fortune in being accepted.  If you want to have some fun, look up the alumni list on Wikipedia.

For now, I don't have a ton to write about because I am not there yet attending classes.  I am looking forward to that with bated breath though.  If you would like to know what I know at the moment, take a look at this website.  http://www.rsamd-cct.com/  This has some headshots of the actors, a link to their blog, and also has  some videos of the head of the department talking about what the next year of my life will be like.
